Develop, implement and manage emergency programs, programs for the operations & maintenance of all equipment and physical structures and landscaping in compliance with corporate/ franchise standards, local, state & national codes and regulations to protect the assets, guests and employees, to ensure optimum operations, minimize expenses and maximize guest satisfaction.
Experience
- Minimum of 5 years engineering experience; 3 years of management experience preferred.
- High School Diploma or equivalent required; Associate Degree or higher preferred.
- Vocational schooling, military training, certification, and/or experience in building-related trades required in one or more of the following: HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing, Carpentry.
Responsibilities & Qualifications
- Able to observe and detect signs of emergency situations, remaining calm and alert during emergencies or high hotel activity; serve as a role model for associates.
- Able to establish and maintain effective working relationships with associates and guests.
- Adhere to all OSHA requirements and guidelines.
- Knowledge of hotel operations, including security and safety programs, repairs, maintenance, and quality assurance processes.
- Monitor and maintain engineering systems and equipment to ensure optimal performance.
- Maintain the building exterior and curb appeal, including snow removal, lawn care, painting, and landscaping.
- Able to receive instructions and communicate progress on work assignments.
- Track guest satisfaction surveys and maximize usage of the guest response tracking system.
- Ensure all Engineering Quality Standards are consistently followed and applied.
- Assist with preventative maintenance and complete work orders (such as replacing ceiling tiles, light bulbs, patching vinyl) to maintain hotel standards.
- Comply with attendance requirements and maintain regular availability.
- Strong command of the English language, both written and verbal.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
Physical Requirements
- Climbing, reading, standing, walking, and routinely lifting 25 to 50 lbs., with or without reasonable accommodation.

- Due to the cyclical nature of the hospitality industry, employees may be required to work varying schedules (including holidays and weekends) based on business needs.
