About the Opportunity
I'm partnering with the founder of an early-stage electric aviation business that's moving from successful flight-tested prototypes into a full aircraft programme.
This is one of those opportunities that doesn't come around very often.
They're not simply looking to hire another engineering leader.
They're looking for someone who wants to play a defining role in how the aircraft evolves over the coming years.
If you've developed deep expertise within one area of aircraft engineering but have grown into making wider aircraft-level technical decisions, this could be the opportunity to take that next step.
The Opportunity
Joining at this stage means becoming one of the earliest senior technical hires within the business.
You will work alongside an experienced founder and technical advisors while helping shape both the aircraft and the engineering organisation around it.
Rather than owning a single subsystem, you'll provide technical leadership across the aircraft, bringing together specialists across:
- Flight Sciences
- Flight Controls / GNC
- Propulsion
- Structures
- Electrical Systems
- Battery Systems
- Flight Test
The role is about balancing technical decisions across the complete aircraft, ensuring every engineering discipline contributes towards one coherent product.
What's more important than your title is your scope.
We're looking for someone who's already operating beyond their own technical discipline, influencing aircraft-level decisions and ready to take genuine ownership of an aircraft programme.
Background
We're particularly interested in engineers who've worked on:
- Advanced aircraft
- Electric aviation
- eVTOL / VTOL
- Rotorcraft
- Experimental aircraft
- Autonomous aircraft
- Advanced UAV programmes
Experience within fast-moving aerospace start-ups or advanced development programmes would be highly advantageous.
All candidates must be based within the US & have full right to work in the US due to the client not being able to sponsor.
