CHIEF ENGINEER COMMERCIAL LAUNDRY
Austell, Georgia
The Jericho Group Consultants, LLC is currently recruiting an experienced Chief Engineer to lead maintenance and engineering operations for a commercial laundry facility in Austell, GA.

This is a key leadership opportunity for a hands-on engineering professional with strong industrial maintenance experience and a proven ability to improve equipment reliability, facility performance, safety, and operational efficiency.

POSITION SUMMARY
The Chief Engineer will oversee the maintenance, repair, and engineering functions of the facility, ensuring that production equipment, building systems, and utilities operate safely, reliably, and efficiently.

The successful candidate will bring strong technical expertise in industrial equipment maintenance, electrical and mechanical systems, preventive maintenance, facility management, and team leadership.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Equipment & Facility Maintenance
Oversee the maintenance, repair, and efficient operation of commercial laundry equipment, including washers, dryers, ironers, and boilers.
Develop and implement preventive and predictive maintenance programs.
Troubleshoot and repair electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
Maintain HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and other facility systems.
Ensure equipment meets operational, safety, and regulatory standards.
Identify equipment issues and develop corrective action plans to minimize downtime.
Operational Efficiency & Cost Control
Optimize equipment performance to improve productivity and energy efficiency.
Monitor utility consumption and implement cost-reduction initiatives.
Manage inventory of spare parts, tools, and maintenance supplies.
Work with vendors and contractors to obtain cost-effective maintenance solutions.
Establish maintenance practices that improve equipment reliability and reduce unplanned downtime.
Safety & Compliance
Ensure compliance with OSHA, environmental, and facility safety requirements.
Conduct regular inspections to identify potential hazards.
Implement corrective actions and maintain a safe working environment.
Train employees on proper safety procedures and equipment handling.
Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, inspections, and compliance requirements.
Team Leadership & Development
Lead, mentor, and develop a team of maintenance technicians and engineers.
Assign work, establish priorities, and monitor performance.
Set performance expectations and conduct employee evaluations.
Provide training on new equipment, technologies, and maintenance best practices.
Promote accountability, teamwork, continuous improvement, and operational excellence.
QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Facilities Management, or a related field preferred.
5+ years of industrial maintenance experience, including at least 3 years in a leadership role.
Strong experience maintaining and repairing commercial laundry or industrial processing equipment.
Solid knowledge of electrical, mechanical, HVAC, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
Experience with washers, dryers, ironers, boilers, and other industrial laundry equipment preferred.
Knowledge of OSHA, environmental, and workplace safety requirements.
Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and project management skills.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, production-driven environment.
Ability to prioritize multiple maintenance projects and operational needs.
Proficiency with CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems) and Microsoft Office.
Strong communication, leadership, organizational, and decision-making skills.
