We are seeking a Chief Engineer to lead our engineering organization and drive the next generation of product innovation, quality, reliability, and continuous improvement.

As Evolve's senior technical leader, you will own the engineering vision, lead a high-performing team, and ensure our products get better with every release. This role requires a strategic and critical thinker who can solve complex engineering and manufacturing challenges while balancing quality, cost, customer requirements, and operational efficiency.

Primary Accountabilities

Lead, Manage & Hold Accountable (LMA) the Engineering Team

  • Lead and develop the engineering organization.
  • Build a culture of accountability, ownership, continuous improvement, and critical thinking.
  • Recruit, mentor, and retain engineering talent.
  • Foster sound decision-making, problem-solving, and collaboration across the engineering team.

Engineering Release Authority

  • Serve as the final approval authority for all engineering drawings, BOMs, and ECOs.
  • Ensure design integrity, quality, manufacturability, and documentation control.
  • Establish disciplined engineering review and release processes.
  • Evaluate technical risks, challenge assumptions, and make sound engineering decisions that support company objectives.
  • Reduce complexity while supporting customer customization.
  • Analyze engineering and manufacturing impacts of design changes to ensure scalable and sustainable solutions.

The Bulletproof Standard: Reliability, Root Cause & Warranty Reduction

  • Lead root cause analysis and corrective action efforts.
  • Apply critical-thinking and data-driven problem-solving methods to identify underlying causes of product, process, and field performance issues.
  • Improve product durability, reliability, and field performance.
  • Reduce warranty claims through sustainable engineering solutions.

5.Product Excellence & Continuous Improvement

  • Lead the development and improvement of all Evolve products.
  • Drive innovation, quality, fit and finish, and customer experience.
  • Evaluate complex engineering challenges, challenge assumptions, assess alternatives, and develop practical solutions that balance quality, cost, manufacturability, and customer requirements.
  • Partner with Operations to improve manufacturability and eliminate waste.
  • Champion a culture of continuous improvement through analytical thinking and fact-based decision-making.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
  • 10+ years of progressive engineering leadership experience.
  • 5+ years leading engineering teams in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with product development, fabrication, welding, and manufacturing operations.
  • Demonstrated critical-thinking, analytical, and decision-making abilities in solving complex engineering and manufacturing challenges.
  • Proven success driving quality, reliability, innovation, and continuous improvement.
  • Proven ability to assess technical risks, evaluate alternatives, identify root causes, and implement effective long-term solutions.
  • Strong leadership, communication, strategic planning, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Engineering, Engineering Management, or MBA.
  • Experience in transportation equipment, specialty vehicles, trailers, motorsports, or custom manufacturing.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license.
