Job Description and Duties
Under the general direction of the Chief Engineer II, the Chief Engineer I in the Facilities Management Division leads and provides skilled work in the operation, maintenance, and repair of heating and electrical plant, mechanical and power equipment within state buildings and occupied buildings in accordance with FMD guidelines and manuals.
This position is a 12‑month limited term appointment, which may become permanent, be extended up to 24 months, or be cancelled at any time.
Responsibilities
- Oversee and perform engineering operations related to heating, electrical, mechanical, and power equipment.
- Manage special projects and repair activities within state buildings.
- Ensure compliance with state and departmental guidelines and manuals.
- Participate in conflict‑of‑interest procedures and complete required forms.
Minimum Requirements
Applicants must meet the minimum qualifications stated in the classification specification. New to State candidates are hired into the minimum salary range.
