We are currently looking for an experienced, detail-oriented individual to join our Data Center Engineering Operations Team.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the operation and maintenance of all electrical, mechanical, and HVAC equipment within the Data Center/Facility.
- Assist in maintenance and monitoring of all Data Center systems, including incidents/events, problems, changes, monitoring, problem escalation/notification/resolution, and all other aspects of Data Center support.
- Monitor and troubleshoot all mechanical, electrical, HVAC systems, voice/data, chiller systems, and generators.
- Provide assistance to contractors or data center engineers to ensure proper operation and maintenance of all facility equipment covered under level I and other certified areas such as fiber optic, electrical certification, HVAC repair (training/certification), UPS, and generator certifications and training.
- Assist in deploying new equipment, such as building racks, cabling, and related tasks.
- Respond to internal Rack customer maintenance, repair, and expansion requests through the ticketing system.
- Perform site walkthroughs to verify proper operation of Facility Equipment and Monitoring Systems.
- Maintain status changes in Mission Critical infrastructure to support corrective and preventive maintenance.
- Review the test quality, performance, safety, and reliability of products, equipment, and processes.
Key Job Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain all electrical, mechanical, and fire/life safety equipment within the data center.
- Serve as a technical resource to support Amazon within its owned and operated data centers.
- Ensure that data center equipment supporting mission‑critical servers maintain better than 99.999% uptime.
- Drive innovation while reducing operational costs in the facilities.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience carrying new design concepts through exploration, development, and deployment or mass production.
- Experience with MS Excel, Word, and Windows Operating Systems.
- Experience with power management and power monitoring systems.
- Must be a national of an EU member state.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Knowledge of critical data center equipment.
- Knowledge of engineering documentation, electrical diagrams, and standard operating procedures.
- Knowledge of building codes and regulations including Life Safety, BOCA, NFPA, NEC, or OSHA.
- Experience in project management in data centers or comparable critical infrastructure.
- Experience in Data Center Engineering Operations, with a deep understanding of electrical and mechanical data center infrastructure.
- Experience reading and interpreting construction specifications and drawings for all domains.
