Hueston Woods Lodge & Conference Center is looking for a dynamic, experienced Chief Engineer to lead the daily operations. Located in Southwestern Ohio, the lodge encompasses a stunning landscape of forested hills, open meadows, and misty valleys with winding streams. The park offers extensive acreage, a marina, hiking trails, historic sites, golf, and accommodations in a full‑service resort lodge and deluxe vacation cabins. The Chief Engineer will manage guest rooms, event spaces, boilers, chillers, kitchens, laundry, building exteriors, and cabins, ensuring safe, comfortable, and exceptional experiences for every guest.

Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise all maintenance technicians, hiring, training, coaching, and scheduling as needed.
- Maintain the maintenance ticket tracking system (KOKO) and coordinate daily assignments.
- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical or electrical malfunctions in HVAC, plumbing, and related systems.
- Perform preventative maintenance on a scheduled basis.
- Service the lodge’s pool, including chemical adjustments, filter cleaning, and maintenance logs.
- Supervise exterior maintenance, curb appeal, snow removal, lawn care, painting, and gardening.
- Develop associate skills through training, ensuring safety programs comply with corporate standards, OSHA, and other regulations.
- Schedule and manage third‑party contractors for building systems compliance, equipment repairs, projects, renovations, and capital replacements.
- Coordinate projects with ODNR as required.
- Use company software to log and complete all maintenance tickets and requests.
- Maintain critical spare parts inventory, purchase supplies, and submit capital planning requests.
- Covers Manager on Duty (MOD) shifts as required.
Qualifications
- 3–5 years of maintenance experience, including 2 years in a supervisory role.
- Skilled in HVAC, boilers, electrical, carpentry, drywall, painting, plumbing, roofing, and landscaping.
- Ability to troubleshoot and repair routine mechanical and electrical malfunctions in hotel systems and equipment.
- Responsive to maintenance complaints and willing to assist coworkers—a team player.
- Strong mathematical knowledge for interpreting electrical, mechanical, and building systems.
- Comprehensive knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems, including design, intent, and performance.
- Knowledge of construction and building systems.
- Exceptional organizational and time‑management skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Valid driver’s license required.
Physical & Environmental Demands
- Ability to bend, reach, kneel, twist, and grip items while working in designated areas.
- Manual dexterity and coordination for lifting, moving heavy loads, and standing for extended periods.
- Work in cold and hot temperatures, both indoors and outdoors.
- Capability to perform duties in confined spaces and awkward positions.
- Ability to lift and carry items weighing 20 to 60 pounds per day.
