This branch operates at approximately $50M annually, specializing in commercial, institutional, hospitality, and industrial projects.The company is seeking an experienced Chief Electrical Estimator to join its team in Ocoee, FL. This is a full-time, in-office position responsible for preparing accurate, competitive cost estimates for commercial electrical construction projects ranging from $500K to $5M+.The Chief Electrical Estimator plays a critical role in project success by analyzing drawings and specifications, developing detailed takeoffs, supporting the bidding process, and collaborating closely with project managers, engineers, vendors, and subcontractors.
The role will be managing a team of 3-4 estimators.Key ResponsibilitiesReview project plans, specifications, and related documents to prepare accurate electrical cost estimatesAnalyze electrical drawings and technical specifications to identify materials, labor, equipment, and code requirementsPerform detailed material and labor takeoffs for installation, wiring, testing, and commissioningMaintain and update cost databases for materials, labor, and equipmentPrepare detailed bid proposals and participate in bid reviews and meetingsCollaborate with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain competitive pricingSupport value engineering by identifying cost-saving alternatives without compromising quality or safetyAssess project risks and develop contingencies related to cost, schedule, and availabilityMaintain clear documentation and reporting for estimates and assumptionsWork cross-functionally with project managers, engineers, architects, and leadershipStay current with electrical codes, industry trends, and estimating best practicesPerform additional duties as assignedRequirements5+ years of experience as an Electrical Estimator (3–5 years preferred)Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field preferred (equivalent experience considered)Strong knowledge of local and national electrical codesAbility to read and interpret civil, architectural, structural, mechanical, and electrical plansProficiency with BluebeamKnowledge of electrical materials and installation methodsExperience with estimating software and Microsoft OfficeExperience estimating commercial projects valued at $500K–$5M+Benefits & CompensationBase Salary: $115,000- $125,000 (depending on experience)Annual Bonus: $15K+, performance-basedHealth Insurance401(k) Retirement PlanCar allowance / gas card (if applicable)Stable, long-term opportunity with a respected electrical contractor
