About the Opportunity

A rapidly growing, mission-driven behavioral health organization is seeking an experienced and visionary Chief Clinical Officer (CCO) to join its executive leadership team. This individual will provide strategic oversight of clinical services across a multi-site platform and play a critical role in shaping the future of care delivery, clinical quality, and organizational growth.

The ideal candidate is a collaborative and forward-thinking executive leader with deep behavioral health experience, strong operational insight, and a proven ability to scale clinical infrastructure within a fast-paced, high-growth environment.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree or higher in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or related behavioral health field required; Doctorate preferred
  • Active, unrestricted clinical licensure required (examples include LISW-S, LPCC-S, LMFT, PsyD, or PhD)
  • 10+ years of progressive clinical leadership experience, including executive-level oversight
  • Strong behavioral health experience across residential, outpatient, and/or specialty treatment settings
  • Demonstrated success leading and scaling multi-site clinical operations within a high-growth environment
  • Deep understanding of accreditation standards, payer systems, compliance requirements, and quality management

Key Responsibilities

Clinical Leadership & Strategy

  • Develop and execute the organization’s clinical vision and long-term strategy aligned with operational growth goals
  • Provide executive oversight of clinical programs across multiple service lines and locations
  • Drive continuous improvement in clinical outcomes, patient experience, and program effectivenessIdentify opportunities for service expansion, innovation, and program development

Quality, Compliance & Risk Management

  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, payer, and accreditation standards
  • Establish and monitor clinical KPIs, quality metrics, and performance benchmarks
  • Lead quality assurance and performance improvement initiatives organization-wide
  • Mitigate clinical risk and uphold ethical, professional, and regulatory standards

Operational Excellence

  • Partner closely with operations and finance leadership to align clinical programming with staffing, census, and revenue goals
  • Support the development of scalable clinical infrastructure during periods of rapid growth
  • Standardize clinical policies, procedures, workflows, and best practices across locations
  • Ensure staffing models appropriately support patient care needs and compliance requirements

Leadership & Team Development

  • Lead, mentor, and support clinical directors and program leadership teams
  • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, professionalism, and continuous improvement
  • Support recruitment, retention, and succession planning initiatives for clinical leadership roles
  • Provide guidance related to clinical supervision, licensure, and professional development

Stakeholder Collaboration

  • Partner with executive leadership on strategic planning and organizational initiatives
  • Collaborate with Talent Acquisition and HR leadership on workforce planning and clinical hiring strategies
  • Serve as a clinical liaison with community partners, regulators, and external stakeholders
