About The Role

What if your years of advanced chemistry training could directly shape how AI reasons through the world's most complex scientific problems? We're looking for Chemistry experts — Masters and PhD level — to help build and train cutting-edge AI models by designing, solving, and evaluating advanced chemistry problems that push the boundaries of what AI can understand.

Chemistry Expert (AI Training)

This is a fully remote, flexible contract role. No AI background needed — just deep expertise in chemistry and a passion for scientific rigor.

  • Organization: Alignerr
  • Type: Hourly Contract
  • Location: Remote
  • Commitment: 10–40 hours/week

What You'll Do

  • Solve and review complex problem sets to ensure scientific accuracy, depth, and clarity
  • Evaluate AI-generated chemistry reasoning and outputs against expert-level standards
  • Collaborate asynchronously with AI researchers and domain experts to strengthen model performance
  • Ensure every deliverable meets the highest standards of scientific rigor and precision

Who You Are

  • Holds a Master's or PhD in Chemistry or a closely related field
  • Deep expertise in one or more areas: organic, inorganic, physical, or computational chemistry
  • Comfortable working with Python or computational chemistry software (e.g., Gaussian, VASP)
  • Exceptionally detail-oriented with strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Self-motivated and reliable when working independently in an asynchronous environment
  • Fluent in English

Nice to Have

  • Prior experience with data annotation, data quality assurance, or AI evaluation workflows
  • Background in academic research, scientific publishing, or curriculum development
  • Familiarity with AI tools or language model evaluation as an end user
  • Experience designing problem sets, coursework, or assessments in chemistry

Why Join Us
