Cell Recycling Operator at Gigafactory 1A Cell Recycling Operator at Gigafactory 1 is responsible for the equipment operation and overall production output of the Cell Recycling Pilot Plant. The operator is also responsible for ensuring all Cell Recycling equipment is operating at peak-efficiency in correlation with specific safety guidelines.As a Tesla Gigafactory 1 Cell Recycling Operator, you will have the opportunity to drive Tesla toward closing the loop on battery recycling. Cell Recycling Operators will work closely with engineering personnel to continuously develop and improve cell recycling systems.ResponsibilitiesOperate and monitor proprietary cell recycling equipment, bulk material flow systems, high-flow exhaust and scrubber systems, water/wastewater systems, and separation equipment (e.g.

magnetic separation systems, vibratory systems, etc.)Start and stop equipment as well as maintain facility operation through monitoring control software and verifying parameters/trends; improve the reliability of equipment and systems through collaboration with engineering and Program Management and adjust process parameters to optimizationProvide support for new process equipment testing, installation, and commissioning; supply feedback on performance of process equipment highlighting issues and necessary improvementsTrack process data and collect samples for analysisPerform routine operator rounds of equipment and system checksProvide emergency spill response/cleanup and perform decontamination of equipmentPerform breakdown/processing and packaging of universal waste streams such as battery packs, modules, and cellsRequirementsRequired to work with and around hazardous areas and hazardous chemicals and confined spacesExperience with chemical handling and water distribution is desiredEffective verbal and written communications skills along with strong attention to detail, flexibility, and prioritizationMultitasks and adapts to constant changeLift at least 50-75 lbs. on a regular basis, perform repetitive hand and wrist motions, and climb ladders/stairs, Work in loud environment.
