Overview: This role is for an Emergency Department (ED) Charge Nurse (RN) responsible for overseeing unit operations, patient care, staff management, and ensuring regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Patient Care: Provide and supervise care according to standards, delegate tasks, and evaluate treatment effectiveness.
- Staff Management: Coordinate staffing, assist with orientation, mentoring, and ensure competency completion. Manage daily activities like scheduling and breaks.
- Customer Service: Interact with patients and staff to maintain professional conduct and track service performance.
- Operational Duties: Act as liaison to internal/external stakeholders, develop plans to meet regulatory standards, and implement departmental improvements.
Qualifications & Skills
- Licensed RN with a nursing degree from an accredited school.
- At least two years of relevant clinical nursing experience.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and decision-making skills, especially in high-stress situations.
- Ability to manage departmental budget and implement change effectively.
Certifications & Preferred Qualifications
- Arizona RN license, CPR, ACLS, and PALS or ENPC (must obtain if required).
- BSN and management experience preferred.
- Specialty certifications and supervisory experience advantageous.
