Chaos Engineering Consultant
Project Overview: To build capability for chaos engineering across the projects that are supported by SQM-Shared Services.
Contractor’s Role: Evaluate and propose best-practices for chaos engineering.
Experience Level: Senior.
Qualifications: Hands-on experience working on chaos engineering.
a. At least 3+ years of development or strong unit testing experience.
b. Hands on experience with chaos experiments, preferably java however strong python experience in similar lines could also do.
c. On experience on any chaos tool (Chaos monkey, Gremlin, Mangle, ChaosBlade).
d. Mindset to identify and explore chaotic situations and conduct formalized assaults.
Nice to Haves:
a. Dev / unit testing level experiences for services, components (DB, Middleware, Components).
Tasks & responsibilities:
- Evaluate and propose best-practices for chaos engineering.
- Design, implement, and execute chaos experiments from conception to production deployment.
- Provide input and feedback to our engineering teams on findings resulting from the experiments.
- Understanding of automation patterns and expertise with modern frameworks.
- Experience working within a cloud environment (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform, PCF etc.).
- Experience in systems with multiple layers of redundancy to withstand failures.
- Experience with testing, operating, or deploying cloud-based applications.
- Design chaos experiment in at least one of the following: Java or Python.
- Experience in Linux administration and troubleshooting.
- Experience in modern CI/CD practices.
- Experience working in a containerized (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes, rkt, Swarm, etc.).
