Chair of Psychiatry

Mount Sinai South Nassau is seeking a Chair of Psychiatry to lead and manage mental health services in alignment with the institution's mission and strategic direction. This leadership role involves directing mental health staff activities, ensuring service delivery adheres to policies, regulations, and best practices, and overseeing clinician recruitment and clinical care supervision. The Chair will also be responsible for quality improvement initiatives and regulatory preparedness within the Department of Psychiatry.

Responsibilities

• Oversee clinician recruitment and supervision of all clinical care
• Lead quality improvement initiatives
• Ensure regulatory preparedness and adherence to standards of various certifying agencies
• Work with hospital and health system leadership to optimize and improve care for all patients in behavioral health
• Develop, implement, and monitor clinical programs and services for the Department of Psychiatry to improve patient care outcomes/services
• Coordinate and integrate inter and intra departmental activities to improve coordination and continuity of care
• Monitor the professional competence of medical staff within the Department of Psychiatry and take appropriate action when indicated
• Manage the fiscal viability of clinical services, including budget, expenses, and revenue

Compensation

• Compensation range from $300,000 to $400,000 (not including bonuses / incentive compensation or benefits)
• The salary range listed is for full-time employment and does not include bonuses / incentive compensation or benefits

Requirements

• MD Degree with Board Certification in Child/Adolescent Psychiatry or Psychiatry
• Medical Degree from an Accredited University
• New York Medical License
