Job OverviewThe Safety Technical Trainer is responsible for developing, coordinating, managing, and delivering safety-related technical training across Michoud Assembly Facility and Stennis Space Center. Training supports core safety principles, regulatory compliance, and industry-specific standards, ensuring personnel receive high-quality instruction in safe work practices, equipment operation, and certification-level competencies.ResponsibilitiesEssential Job Duties:Deliver instruction and certification training for PPE and related safety programsCoordinate and teach NCCER Core certifications and other NCCER-aligned safety coursesProvide technical instruction for safe operation of light equipment, including forklifts, scissor lifts, aerial lifts, boom lifts, mobile cranes, and overhead cranesProvide heavy equipment operations training for excavators, dozers, skid steers, and front-end loaders, including required safety certificationsConduct specialized safety training in areas including Confined Space, Rigging, Signaling, Trenching & Excavation, Fall Protection, and Lockout/Tagout (LOTO)Support safety training initiatives across departments at Michoud Assembly Facility (MAF) and Stennis Space Center (SSC)Coordinate with industry partners as needed to align training with evolving safety standards and operational requirementsKey Responsibilities:Deliver safety and technical training programs across Michoud Assembly Facility (MAF) and Stennis Space Center (SSC)Support NCCER certification and safety training initiativesProvide instruction for light and heavy equipment operations training programsConduct specialized safety training in support of regulatory and operational requirementsSupport departmental safety training needs and workforce readinessCoordinate with industry partners and internal departments regarding training requirements and standardsPromote safe work practices and compliance with applicable safety procedures and standardsJob RequirementsMandatory:Associate degree OR minimum of 5 years of experience in industrial, construction, or safety-related environmentsBackground in industrial plant operations, construction, safety, or equipment operations trainingCurrent Train-the-Trainer certificationCurrent Forklift and Aerial Lift certifications within the last 3 yearsNCCER Core Instructor certificationRigging certificationHeavy Equipment certifications3–5 years of experience delivering safety and heavy/light equipment operations trainingAbility and willingness to obtain and maintain additional certifications as requiredValid driver's licenseAbility to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writingMust be able to obtain and maintain required NASA site access and credentialsPhysical Requirements:Ability to operate a computer and standard office equipment, and view a computer screen for extended periodsAbility to lift and carry up to 40 poundsAbility to stand, sit, reach, bend, climb, crawl, and push/pull as requiredDisclosuresChugach Government Solutions is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
