Certified Surgical Technologist (CST)
Position available for a Certified Surgical Technologist in the operating room. The shift consists of three 12-hour days with holiday rotation. There will be a requirement for weekend shifts, up to one per four-week schedule period. On-call shifts may be required, with a maximum of four call shifts per four-week schedule. The technologist may need to float between like units based on facility needs. Preferred experience includes neuro (spines/crani), ENT (flaps), and robotics (Davinci Xi) cases. Common cases encompass ortho (total joints, spine, trauma), neuro (crani, spine), ENT (flaps), robotics, transplants/procurements, trauma/burns, and GU/GYN. First-time travelers are accepted for this position. A radiation badge must be provided by the agency. The facility operates as a Level 1 trauma center and includes a variety of surgical specialties. Candidates may be expected to support the full range of cases. The unit has an interdisciplinary team, with a majority being registered nurses trained in both scrubbing and circulating surgical procedures. The department is known for providing cutting-edge technology in a dynamic environment. All time off requests must be included with submission, and approval will be based on facility needs. Applicants must be prepared for potential assignment to emergency response teams during hurricane season from June through November. In addition, candidates must complete lab requirements promptly and must not have any time off planned that could delay the pre-start compliance. Previous staff must have been separated from the system for one year before applying. Candidates must have a South Carolina license or proof of application for it.
