Certified Sterile Processing TechnicianThe Certified Sterile Processing Technician is responsible for preparing, sterilizing equipment/instruments and tracking them in an accurate and timely manner. This role also prepares operating room case carts, sterile trays and supplies for all areas of the hospital.Sterile Processing Clinical Duties:Prepares instrumentation and equipment for sterile processing.Verifies the sterilization process.Decontaminates and reprocesses all reusable equipment and instrumentation.Checks equipment for cleanliness, functional use; inventories and documents the quantity of each instrument per tray/container and wraps trays and product for sterilization in accordance with established policies and procedures.Performs required biological and Bowie-Dick tests on a daily basis and records corresponding results.Records autoclave load contents and required statistics in a complete and accurate manner.Prepares case carts for the operating room based surgical needs and supplies.Work Experience:EducationHigh School Diploma or GED (Required)Vocational / Technical Degree (Preferred)Certification / Licensure / RegistrationSterile Processing Technician Certification (Required)Experience and SkillsRequired Skills: Strong Verbal Communications Skills, Strong Written Communications Skills, Excellent Interpersonal Skills, Excellent Organizational Skills, Strong Customer Services Skills
