Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized plans of care for each patient
• Oversee care provided by nursing and other staff on the assigned unit/shift
• Communicate and collaborate with other departments to coordinate patient care
• Document care and changes in patient condition, taking remedial actions when needed
• Assume Charge Nurse responsibilities when required
• Instruct patients and caregivers on tests, procedures, treatments, and medications in understandable terms
• Attend interdisciplinary conferences, representing the department and relaying nursing observations
• Implement emergency response to crisis situations in the absence of senior management
• Provide a minimum of two in‑services annually
• Participate in identifying and implementing training needs for nurse development

Qualifications

• Valid RN license(s) as required by state regulations
• CPR certification (ACLS preferred)
• CRRN® certification required
• Two years of inpatient hospital experience preferred
• Inpatient rehabilitation experience preferred
