Navy CRNAs manage perioperative patient care, and work alongside surgeons and multidisciplinary teams in high-acuity military treatment facilities. The role also offers opportunities to lead and mentor Hospital Corpsmen, support operational medicine, and, depending on assignment, serve with expeditionary, humanitarian, or global-health missions.

From a compensation standpoint, the package is more than base salary.

• Housing allowance (BAH): Varies by duty location, rank, and dependent status but is tax free and allows for you to take home all your income and not apply it to your residence. Also, moving fees are included!
• Board Certification Pay: $8,000 annually for eligible board-certified CRNAs, paid monthly.
• Retention Bonus options: Eligible CRNAs may qualify for annual retention payments of $20,000 for a 2-year agreement, $30,000 for 3 years, $50,000 for 4 years, or $75,000 for 6 years paid for each year of service added
• Accession incentive: The current Navy Nurse Corps special-pay guidance lists a $250,000 Critical Skill Wartime Specialty Accession Bonus for CRNAs with a 4-year obligation, subject to eligibility, service requirements, and approval.
