Summary
This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP) - a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific eligibility requirements per VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment. Program Approval - award amount (up to $200 -000) & eligibility period (one to five years) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after review of the EDRP application. Former EDRP participants ineligible to apply.

- The scope of practice includes direct patient care - administration - educational and research activities
- The CRNA works with diverse age groups to include adult and geriatric patients and is able to meet age specific needs of the patient population served
- The CRNA is clinically accountable to the Chief - Anesthesia Service
- CRNAs practice in collaboration with other health care professionals in a collegial relationship to achieve common goals for care - safety - and welfare of patients
- CRNAs provide anesthetic services within four general categories: 1
- Pre-anesthesia preparation and evaluation 2
- Anesthesia induction - maintenance - and emergence 3
- Post anesthesia care 4
- Peri-anesthetic and clinical support functions outside the OR suite The CRNA demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary when performing his/her duties in providing care appropriate to the VA patient
- He/she demonstrates knowledge of age-associated changes - illnesses and potential disabilities in order to work with adult and geriatric patients
- He/she possesses the ability to communicate - assess and/or interpret data and information reflective of the patient's status to identify patient's requirements in providing the care needed as described in policies - procedures and following sound practices
- He/she involves the patient's family or significant other in decision making related to the patient's plan of care when appropriate.
