What You ll Do

• Conduct initial and ongoing safety and risk assessments for child welfare cases
• Support open investigations with home visits and interviews
• Document case management activities accurately and thoroughly
• Develop and monitor safety plans to protect children and families
• Prepare reports and provide professional recommendations for court proceedings
• Collaborate with law enforcement, legal teams, and community stakeholders
• Maintain compliance with agency policies and procedures

What You Need

• Required:
  • Bachelor s degree in Social Work or related field from an accredited institution
  • Ability to work independently and remotely
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Reliable transportation for home visits and court reports
• Preferred:
  • Prior child welfare investigation experience
  • Familiarity with child safety protocols and documentation standards
  • Cultural competency and interpersonal skills

About the Assignment
This role involves investigating allegations of child maltreatment within the Kokomo community, supporting safety and well-being through assessments, safety planning, and collaboration with law enforcement and other agencies. The position offers a hybrid work environment, giving you the flexibility to work remotely while fulfilling in-person responsibilities as needed. Equipment will be provided, and mileage for travel will be reimbursed at the state rate.
