Job Summary

Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) to provide full‑time anesthesia services at Naval Hospital Jacksonville as an independent contractor (1099). Shift hours are 6:00 AM–6:00 PM, Monday‑Friday, 8.5 hours with a 30‑minute unpaid meal break. No nights, weekends, or on‑call responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Manage patient anesthesia experience, perform pre‑operative evaluations and preparations, and administer monitored anesthesia care.
• Perform regional and general anesthesia, monitor and manage patient reactions to anesthesia and surgery.
• Maintain patient physiological homeostasis and correct abnormal responses during anesthesia and surgery.
• Collect and interpret patient physiological data using non‑invasive monitoring modalities.
• Manage patient airway and pulmonary status.
• Manage patient emergence and recovery, providing pain relief, preventing complications, and administering medications, fluids, or ventilator support as needed.
• Record all pertinent events, including dosage and duration of anesthetic agents, other drugs, intravenous fluids, and blood products.
• Record post‑anesthetic visits, documenting anesthesia‑related complications.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in nursing.
• Graduate of a Council on Accreditation of Nurse Anesthesia Programs (COA)–approved academic program.
• Certified as a Registered Nurse Anesthetist by the American Association of Nurse Anesthetists (AANA) or the National Board of Certification and Recertification for Nurse Anesthetists (NBCRNA).
• Clinical competency demonstrated within the last 2 years.
• Current, full, active, and unrestricted U.S. state license to practice as an RN anesthetist.
