Summary
The Prosthetist is responsible formanaging day-to-day clinical care,conductingcomprehensive patient assessments to create individualized prosthetic treatmentplansand performingprocedures to deliverappropriate services, including prosthesis fabrication. In collaboration with the rest of the team, this individual will develop & execute the plan of care, including ongoing/follow-up appointments and evaluation, ensuringoptimalfit and function of the prosthesis and compliance with various management policies. The ideal teammate will alsodemonstratea commitment to continuous improvement, engaging in various personal and professional development courses and programs.
Primary Duties
- Assess patient needs and design prosthetic devices based on trauma, disease, or functional loss
- Collaborate with physicians on patient evaluations and development of prosthetic treatment plans
- Demonstrate expertise in biomechanics, gait analysis, and prosthetic componentry
- Perform measurements, castings, modifications, and prosthetic fabrication and fittings
- Evaluate and adjust prosthetic devices for optimal fit, function, and quality
- Instruct patients on prosthetic use and provide ongoing follow-up
Records & Documentation
- Maintain accurate patient records, completing clinical notes in a timely fashion
- Ensure compliance with safety, Medicare, HIPAA, and OSHA regulations
Office Administration
- Contribute to general housekeeping as well as regular equipment maintenance.
- Actively participate in meetings (e.g., WIP, safety, etc.)
- Aid in inventory counts

Qualifications
- 2 years clinical experience in prosthetics, including time spent on internship and residency
- 2 years of technical experience
Evaluation
- Regular, informal one-on-one meetings with supervisor for bi-directional feedback
- Formal performance review to take place annually
