To ensure accurate charge capture, the remote Certified Professional Fee Abstractor will review physician documentation and code professional services using appropriate ICD-10-CM, CPT-4, and HCPCS codes while maintaining certification and participating in physician training. Key responsibilities Abstract charges for all applicable patient encounters in a timely manner using hospital systems Report abstracted charges via EPIC EHR and other approved methods Communicate with physicians and peers regarding medical record documentation guidelines and respond to inquiries Required qualifications CPC, CCS-P, RHIA, or RHIT certification is required Knowledge of medical terminology and anatomy and physiology is preferred Ability to maintain current knowledge of coding guidelines and regulations Participation in relevant in-services and seminars is expected Experience with EPIC EHR or similar systems is beneficial
