To ensure compliance with coding standards, the full-time Certified Professional Coder - Maryland will manage diagnostic and procedure coding for surgical services, assist in resolving complex coding issues, and contribute to the development of educational materials while working remotely. Key responsibilities: Research and assign HCPCS Level II codes for ambulatory surgical and professional services Provide support to coding staff by resolving complex cases and issues Collaborate with clinical and non-clinical groups to develop coding and documentation guidelines Required qualifications: Minimum five years of experience in a healthcare setting with proficiency in medical terminology Minimum four years of coding experience and knowledge of compliance and regulatory requirements Associates degree in health administration, RHIT certification, or two years of related experience Certified Professional Coder or Certified Coding Specialist - Physician Based certification Ability to maintain confidentiality and work independently with minimal supervision
