Certified Professional Coder III

To support professional billing operations, the part-time remote Certified Professional Coder III will be responsible for abstracting and validating CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS codes for various healthcare settings while adhering to coding and compliance guidelines. Key responsibilities Abstracts and codes for assigned providers based on medical record documentation, ensuring compliance with coding guidelines Communicates billing-related issues and participates in meetings to enhance overall billing processes Mentors and assists in training other coders and new team members while identifying areas for additional training Required qualifications High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree preferred Five years of professional fee coding experience Certified Professional Coder (CPC) certification Specialty certification from AAPC related to the assigned specialty Proficient computer skills, including word processing and spreadsheets
