Certified Outpatient Coding Specialist

To support a growing coding team, the full-time Certified Outpatient Coding Specialist will work remotely to provide accurate CPT, HCPCS, and ICD-10-CM coding across various specialties while ensuring compliance with coding guidelines and ethical standards. Key responsibilities: Provide coding services for a minimum of 1-4 specialties, including applying diagnosis and procedure codes with high specificity Interpret coding guidelines and ensure accurate code assignment while identifying documentation importance on reimbursement impact Maintain compliance with internal policies, privacy rules, and ongoing professional development through training and credential maintenance Required qualifications: Certification through AAPC (CPC or COC) or AHIMA (CCS or CCS-P) is mandatory At least 2 years of on-the-job coding experience is required Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Outlook, including basic spreadsheet functions and email management Working knowledge of EMR and billing systems Ability to maintain a productivity level and accuracy rate of 95% or higher
