Working remotely in a full-time capacity, the Certified Outpatient Coder will interpret clinical documentation to assign appropriate ICD-CM and CPT codes, ensuring coding accuracy and compliance with guidelines while maintaining productivity standards. Key responsibilities: Analyze medical records to assign ICD-CM and CPT codes based on documentation and official coding guidelines Verify documentation to substantiate assigned codes and assist in resolving incomplete or missing chart documentation Participate in coding audits and maintain a coding accuracy rate of at least 95% for optimal reimbursement Required qualifications: High School diploma or equivalent Medical coding certification preferred Knowledge of ICD-CM and CPT coding systems, as well as third-party payer requirements Good organizational skills with the ability to prioritize workload effectively Three years of medical abstraction and outpatient coding experience preferred
