Certified Outpatient Coder

To ensure accurate and timely coding of medical records, the full-time Certified Outpatient Coder will assign ICD-10 diagnoses and CPT-4 procedure codes for various outpatient encounters, working remotely while adhering to compliance and reimbursement standards. Key responsibilities Assign ICD-10 and CPT-4 codes to outpatient visits, including Emergency Room and ancillary services, for accurate billing and compliance Monitor daily work to maintain coding quality and productivity rates, ensuring timely processing within established timeframes Comply with AHIMA ethical coding standards and support organizational goals while performing additional assigned duties Required qualifications High school diploma or equivalent Formal ICD-10-CM and CPT training 6 months to 2 years of outpatient coding experience in a facility healthcare setting Certification as a Certified Coding Specialist (CCS), Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT), Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA), Certified Coding Associate (CCA), Certified Professional Coder (CPC), or Certified Outpatient Coder (COC) Preferred associate or bachelor's degree
