Surgical Technician

This position is full time and will work 8-hour day shifts at Providence St. Jude Medical Center in Fullerton, CA. The center was designated as a Magnet organization in 2015 and 2020 by the ANCC Magnet Recognition Program, recognizing excellence in nursing services. As a member of the surgical team under the direct supervision of the Registered Nurse Circulator, you will maintain the operating room sterile field, pass instruments, sutures, and sponges during surgery. You will ensure that proper aseptic technique is utilized to prevent contamination and infection. You will also assist the registered nurse with circulating duties.

Required qualifications include: coursework/training from a program accredited by the Association of Surgical Technicians, national certification as a surgical technologist, and national provider BLS certification from the American Heart Association. Experience with proficient scrubbing in one or more of the following is preferred: complex spine, total joints, open hearts (chest), and the eye service.
