We are seeking a compassionate and motivated Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join our team in a clinic-based setting. Under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist, the COTA will assist in implementing individualized treatment plans designed to help children and patients improve functional skills, independence, and participation in daily activities.

Position Responsibilities:

n
    n
  • Evaluates, remediates, and provides consultative assistance to professional staff to school districts and/or parents on perceptual/sensory motor, fine motor adaptive equipment, including augmentative communication and feeding that impede a student's/client's effective functioning in the community.
  • n
  • Investigates case situations and presents information to multi-disciplinary team, and other professional staff, on students/client's background pertinent to diagnosis and treatment.
  • n
  • Help students/clients respond constructively to intervention and treatment within either the school or clinic setting, and to facilitate the transition back into the school district or other setting.
  • n
  • Assists in the evaluation of students/clients upon entrance to the program.
  • n
  • Conducts individual or group therapy programs to remediate sensory motor, functional or other related disorders.
  • n
  • Plans, directs, and conducts remedial programs to improve student's/client's functional skills and facilitate learning within the therapeutic program as the need arises.
  • n
  • Coordinates with supervisor to determine diagnostic needs and OT materials used throughout Accel.
  • n
  • Coordinates with supervisor to ensure that all Therapy Department equipment is serviced and maintained.
  • n
  • Performs related duties, special assignments and projects as required by the Therapy Supervisor.

  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud. Students/clients may exhibit inappropriate physical behavior which may include hitting, biting, kicking, etc.
