Job Summary and Responsibilities

n

As our Certified Occupational Assistant (COTA), you will work under the direction and supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist (OT) to implement customized treatment plans for patients.

n

Every day, you will help individuals rehabilitate, develop, or maintain the daily living and work skills necessary for independent functionality.

n

To be successful in this role, you will administer evidence based-based therapeutic activities and exercises outlined in the supervising OT's established evaluation and plan of care.

    May supervise or be responsible for a particular program such as in-service coordinator.

  • n

    Demonstrates good interpersonal skills and the ability to work tactfully and effectively with fellow staff members, physicians, hospital departments and the general public.

  • n

    Exceeds performance standards in working knowledge of standard occupational therapy practices, procedures and equipment utilized in the department.

  • n

    Self motivated and able to achieve results through good organizational skills.

  • n

    Ability to work independently, within scope of practice, and be a functional team member in a team oriented environment.

    Demonstrates ability to organize and prioritize work efficiently while assuming additional responsibilities as assigned by manager/supervisor.

    California Occupational Therapy Assistant License

    n

  • n

    Current CPR.

    n
  • n
  • n

    Minimum of two to three years of progressive experience with the development of expertise in a given area of therapy.
