Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) - Cardiac Telemetry

n The Nurse Technician performs patient care, nursing tasks, and clerical duties – including acting as a unit receptionist and providing information to patients, families, visitors, and staff. The Nurse Tech also assists the Licensed Nurse as needed.n

n Job Requirements:n

• n High School Diploma or GEDn
• n Completion of a North Carolina State Approved Nurse Aide I coursen
• n BLS certificationn

• n Patient Care:n n Provide direct patient care, maintain a safe environment, and assist with activities of daily living.n
• n Communication:n n Relay messages, answer phones, and maintain records.n
• n Patient Information & Documentation:n n Record vital signs, fluid intake/output, and patient data. Collect specimens.n
• n Patient Dietary Assistancen n : Prepare, assist, and document patient meals.n
• n Patient Transfer/Dischargen n : Assist with admissions, transfers, and discharges. Provide patient mobility support.n
• n Patient Environmentn n : Maintain unit cleanliness, manage supplies and equipment, and inspect patient charts.n
• n Patient Records:n n Update, assemble, and maintain patient charts. Assist with record requests.n
• n Call Lights:n n Respond to call lights promptly.n
• n Phone Etiquetten n : Answer phones professionally and direct physician calls to nurses.n
• n Customer Focus:n n Provide excellent customer service, greet visitors, and assist with patient needs.n
• n Supplies & Equipmentn n : Assess unit supply needs, maintain inventory, and deliver requisitions and specimens.n
• n Teamwork & Support:n n Assist with patient care procedures, orientation, and unit coordination.n
• n Meetings & Updates:n n Attend unit meetings and continuing education programs.n
