Volunteers of America Delaware Valley is seeking a dedicated Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to join the treatment team at our Burlington County Shelter. Reporting to the Program Manager, this role combines client support and facility oversight with hands-on health support—helping ensure safety, accountability, and timely linkage to medical care for individuals in shelter services.

What You’ll Do:

  Provide ongoing facility support including security oversight, client accountability, and daily routine/chore supervision

  n

  Complete hourly rounds, document facility conditions, complete head counts, and conduct shift-change communication (census, medication count, keys, etc.)

• n

  Verify facility census at start/end of shift and relay census to the funding source by required times

  n
n
• n

  Monitor sign-in/sign-out procedures and initiate emergency follow-up for late/unauthorized absences

  n
n
• n

  Orient new clients to rules, intake, and fire safety/emergency procedures

  n
n
• n

  Monitor and document client medications in the Medication Log

  n
n
• n

  Schedule and document medical appointments; notify clients of appointment details

  n
n
• n

  Assist clients with scheduling medical appointments and follow up with providers to support attendance

  n
n
• n

  Assist with transportation scheduling and accompany clients to appointments as needed

  n
n
• n

  Provide medical triage and linkage to appropriate care, including taking vital signs (blood pressure, temperature, pulse, respirations)

  n
n
• n

  Facilitate health education and coordinate on-site workshops with community resources

  n
n
• n

  Help clients access health-related services (medical home linkage, barriers to care, social services coordination)

  n
n
• n

  Log phone calls, respond to inquiries appropriately, and complete required documentation/filing per VOADV and funding requirements

  n
n
• n

  Participate in staff meetings, trainings, monthly fire drills, safety checks, and other required activities

  n
n
• n

  Complete other duties as assigned

  n
n

What You Need:

n
• n

  CNA license valid in the state of New Jersey

  n
n
• n

  Strong written/verbal communication skills and the ability to interact appropriately with clients

  n
n
• n

  Valid driver’s license and ability to meet agency driving standards

  n
n
• n

  Ability to pass a criminal background check

  n
n
• n

  Ability to handle Protected Health Information and comply with HIPAA Privacy and Security Rules

  n
n
• n

  Bilingual abilities are a plus

  n
n
