Description
Participate as a full-time advanced practice provider in the Division of Pulmonary & Critical Care Medicine supporting the ambulatory outpatient practice.
This position is on site only.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the delivery of medical services to patients seen in the clinic, under medical direction and supervision of full-time faculty physician(s).
- Manage individual patient care including:
- Perform health status assessment by obtaining medical history and performing physical examination.
- Order and interpret diagnostic studies.
- Develop and implement treatment plan.
- Perform other diagnostic, therapeutic or corrective measures as necessary.
- Schedule patients for ancillary services as needed and follow up with patients afterwards.
- Provide patient education and counseling to patients and their families.
- Communicate with the physicians, providing a summary of the clinical data and discussing further evaluation and therapy as needed.
- Maintain complete and accurate records of all care provided.
- Submit billing information.
- Assist in quality assurance audits and responses.
Minimum Qualifications
- Graduation from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program.
- Received passing score on national certifying exam recognized by the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation.
- Ability to be licensed in the State of Illinois as a Nurse Practitioner.
- Sensitive to the needs of underrepresented minority populations.
- Experience providing services to multicultural populations.
- Experience dealing with underrepresented minority populations.
Desirable Qualifications
- Two or more years of experience.
