Certified Nurse Practitioner – $10,000.00 Sign-On Bonus (Limited Time)

Valley Healthcare System (VHcS), Inc., formerly known as Community Health Center of South Columbus, has been providing medical, dental, outreach, behavioral health, and pharmacy services since August 1994. Originally a small service in the Baker Village community of South Columbus, we have grown to serve residents from the Chattahoochee Valley region and beyond.

Position Summary

Our company is growing rapidly and we are searching for providers to help our growing families. We seek an experienced provider who is passionate about caring for patients and meeting their medical needs. As a Family Practice Physician you will perform exams and procedures, counsel patients, and treat patients throughout their lifetime. The Certified Nurse Practitioner (CNP) is an advanced‑practice provider with special knowledge and skills in health promotion, disease prevention, and family practice specialty. The CNP functions in a collaborative relationship with qualified physicians within jointly approved protocols and is responsible for prescribing, care provision, and referrals as appropriate. For a limited time, this position offers a $10,000.00 sign‑on bonus to qualified candidates.

Duties And Responsibilities

• Obtain a complete health and psychosocial assessment that includes health history and physical examination, and record findings systematically.
• Implement treatment regimens for acute and chronically ill patients according to established protocols.
• Recall patients and provide information to the patient and his/her family about diagnosis or plan of therapy following physician‑nurse appraisal.
• Order, perform, and interpret routine laboratory tests and X‑ray reports for normalcy.
• Provide assessment, education, and management of individuals/families in family planning.
• Develop and implement plans for health promotion and health maintenance, including disease prevention and health education and counseling.
• Co‑manage care for patients with selected health complications in collaboration with the physician.
• Participate in promoting VHcS programs through the performance of off‑site health screening.
• Attend in‑services and training, participate in team conferences, quality councils, and peer review of medical record audits as necessary.
• Carry out many procedures exercising independent judgment.
• Develop and periodically review protocols guiding collaborative practice.
• Meet minimum productivity standards for annual encounter rate at the Center.
• Travel between all VHcS locations to perform services if needed.
• Perform pelvic, vaginal, and breast exams; provide Pap smears, STI testing, contraceptive counseling; educate on menstrual, menopause, and sexual health; diagnose and treat common gynecological issues.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Master of Science Degree in Nursing; successful completion of an advanced nurse practitioner education program accepted by one of the following: American Nurses' Association, Nurses' Association of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology, or National Association of Pediatric Nurse Associates and Practitioners. Holds a certificate as a nurse practitioner in a specialty area. Holds a current license to practice as a registered nurse in the State of Georgia and Alabama. Has a minimum of two years of related clinical nursing experience.

• Professional knowledge of nursing theory and practice, including physical assessment, differential diagnosis, pathophysiology, pharmacology, and management of acute and chronic patient/family problems.
• High analytical ability with attention to detail.
• Substantial interpersonal skills to instruct patients and families and collaborate with health team members; effective verbal and written communication.
• Ability to read, comprehend, and transmit detailed instructions; plan and perform job duties.
• Ability to concentrate, prioritize, and work independently; organize and produce work in a timely manner.
• High integrity to keep confidential all patient information.
• Experience in community health is a plus.

Evaluation Criteria

Performance is evaluated by the Chief Medical Officer in accordance with center policies. Criteria include clinical competence, patient care, communication, professionalism, and teamwork.

Compensation & Benefits

• Salary: $97,139.00 and up, based on experience.

Physical Requirements

• Must be able to stand, walk, reach, bend, and lift (occasionally > 50 pounds).
• Must have full range of motion to assist or lift patients.
• Visual, auditory, and hand‑eye coordination required.
• Frequent exposure to communicable diseases, hazardous substances, and clinical equipment.
• Must be able to work under stress and maintain flexibility with irregular hours.
• This role is considered high risk for occupational exposure to blood and bodily fluids.
