Nurse Assistant

Expected pay for this position is $18.00-$25.02. Actual pay will be determined by experience, skills and internal equity. MDH Benefits package includes: Medical, Dental, Vision 457B and employer match for FT Employees Company paid STD and LTD

Job Summary A Nurse Assistant is responsible with assisting in providing care for multiple types of patients under the supervision of a licensed nurse.

Job Specifications EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Required to have completed an approved nurse aide training program, passed the IL Certified Nurse Aide Exam, and be listed on the IL Nurse Aide Registry. Required to have a current CPR certification or ability to obtain within 90 days of hire date. Required to have a current CPI certification or ability to obtain within 180 days of hire date.

JOB KNOWLEDGE: Is knowledgeable regarding policies and procedures, PPE#s, universal precautions, duties during a disaster, and product safety information, all on-line/computer based learning. The patient population must be considered when assessing job knowledge required by the employee.

ABILITIES, INTERESTS AND TEMPERAMENTS: Verbal ability is needed to interpret and understand instructions and to communicate with other caregivers. Numerical ability is needed to correctly tally patient#s I # O. Visual acuity is needed to assist and monitor patients. Ability to read and write is needed for documentation on patient records. Ability to adapt and follow directions in a composed manner during emergency situations. Empathy and consideration is needed to deal with patients and their family members.
