Duties

  • Administer medications to patients as prescribed by healthcare professionals
  • Monitor and record vital signs, such as blood pressure, pulse, and temperature
  • Assist with physical examinations and medical procedures
  • Document patient care activities and maintain accurate medical records
  • Follow medication administration protocols and ensure proper dosage and timing
  • Provide assistance with activities of daily living, such as bathing, dressing, and grooming
  • Monitor patients for any adverse reactions or side effects from medications

Qualifications

  • Previous experience as a Medication Aide or similar role in a nursing home or healthcare setting
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and common medications
  • Familiarity with medication administration systems, such as Cerner or similar electronic systems
  • Ability to accurately document medical information and maintain confidentiality
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions precisely
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with patients, families, and healthcare professionals
  • Valid certification as a Medication Aide in accordance with state regulations
