To support the coding needs of a healthcare system, the full-time Florida Licensed Coding Specialist will analyze medical records, assign appropriate ICD-10-CM and CPT-4 codes, and maintain a high coding accuracy rate in a remote environment. Key responsibilities Analyze and interpret medical records to assign correct codes according to coding guidelines Abstract necessary information from medical records to identify diagnoses and related conditions Communicate with medical staff to clarify documentation for accurate code assignment Required qualifications High School diploma or GED, or equivalent combination of work experience and education Minimum of three years of coding experience in acute care, home health, or ancillary settings Successful completion of a credentialed coding certificate program with relevant coding credentials (CCS, CCS-P, CPC, or HCS-D) Knowledge of ICD-10-CM, CPT coding systems, and clinical documentation improvement Familiarity with encoder technology and electronic medical records (EMR)
