To support the coding needs of a healthcare organization, the full-time Florida Licensed Coding Specialist will analyze medical records and assign appropriate ICD-10-CM and CPT-4 codes while working remotely. Key responsibilities: Analyzes and interprets medical records to assign correct codes according to coding guidelines Abstracts necessary information from medical records to identify diagnoses and related conditions Maintains a coding accuracy rate of 95% and communicates with medical staff to clarify documentation as needed Required qualifications: High School diploma or GED, or equivalent combination of work experience and education Minimum of three years of acute care, home health, or physician coding experience Successful completion of a credentialed coding certificate program with credentials such as CCS, CCS-P, CPC, or HCS-D Knowledge of ICD-10-CM, CPT coding, and clinical documentation improvement Familiarity with encoder technology and electronic medical records (EMR)
