To enhance coding quality for hospital billing services, the remote Certified Coding Editor will review coding quality alerts, resolve edits and denials, and ensure accuracy in coding for inpatient and outpatient encounters. Key responsibilities Verifying accuracy of CPT and diagnosis codes for complex procedures and encounters Assisting in the resolution of billing edits and unbilled accounts to facilitate final billing Maintaining communication with medical staff to clarify documentation issues and ensure compliance with coding guidelines Required qualifications Completion of an approved coding program or graduation from a Health Information Management program A minimum of five years of coding experience in an acute care hospital environment Certification through AHIMA (RHIT, RHIA, CCS, CCS-P) or AAPC (CPC-H, CPC) Advanced knowledge of coding and abstracting skills, including ICD-9-CM/ICD-10 conventions Ability to pass a coding test with a score of 85% or above prior to placement
