To ensure accurate and timely billing of laboratory services, the full-time Certified Coder - Illinois will manage CPT/HCPCS coding inquiries, resolve billing-related issues, and collaborate with internal departments while working remotely during daytime hours. Key responsibilities Resolve lab-related CPT, HCPCS, and ICD-10 inquiries for internal and external parties Edit laboratory test charges to ensure appropriate coding and modifiers are applied Research and resolve assigned billing reports and work queues for registration errors and claim edits Required qualifications Certified Professional Coder (CPC), Certified Outpatient Coder (COC), Certified Coding Specialist - Physician-Based (CCS-P), or Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) certification Experience in revenue cycle and coding Understanding of compliance, regulatory, and billing rules specific to laboratory services Proficiency with electronic medical record systems and Lab Information Systems Knowledge of medical terminology and payer-specific guidelines
