Job Overview

We are seeking an Anesthesiologist Assistant (C-AA/CAA/ Clinical Anesthetist) to provide anesthesia care to a complex patient population under the medical direction provided by the UW Department of Anesthesiology faculty anesthesiologists.

Work Schedule & Location

  • 75-1.0 FTE (choose 8, 10, 12, or 14-hour shifts for flexibility).
  • Weekend and/or PM shift commitments optional for additional compensation.
  • Required to be willing to work at multiple locations: University Hospital, American Family Children’s Hospital, East Madison Hospital, Madison Surgery Center, and the Digestive Health Center in Madison, WI.

Compensation & Benefits

  • External hires may be eligible for up to a $75,000 sign-on bonus.

Responsibilities

  • Provide anesthesia care to a complex patient population under medical direction.
  • Collaborate with administrative, nursing, physician, and other staff to assure safe, effective, quality patient care and promote UW Health’s educational and research missions.
  • Work in an academic setting with ample opportunity to contribute to S-AA education.
  • Case mix may include neuro, spine, ortho trauma, ob/gyn surgery, acute general surgery, transplant, plastics, trauma, cath lab, and outpatient surgery.

Education & Certification

  • Minimum – Master’s degree from an accredited AA program.
  • Active Anesthesiologist Assistant license in WI.
  • Active national certification from the National Commission for Certification of Anesthesiologist Assistants (NCCAA).
