Job Summary

Avir at Texarkana is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Certified Activity Director (LTC/SNF) to join our team in Texarkana, Texas. Responsibilities

  • Design, plan, and implement activities that cater to the diverse interests and needs of our residents, including those with dementia, Alzheimer's, and other cognitive impairments
  • Develop and maintain relationships with residents, families, and staff to ensure a positive and welcoming environment
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to create individualized activity plans that align with resident goals and preferences
  • Monitor and record resident participation, progress, and feedback to inform activity program development and enhancements
  • Maintain accurate records and reports, including activity logs, participation reports, and resident assessments
  • Recruit, supervise, and train volunteer staff to support activity programs
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends, best practices, and regulatory requirements to ensure compliance and excellence

Required Qualifications

  • Certified Activity Director (LTC/SNF) certification or willingness to obtain within 6 months of hire date
  • Bachelor's degree in Recreation Therapy, Therapeutic Recreation, or related field
  • 2+ years of experience in activity direction, recreation therapy, or related field
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Flexibility to work varying hours, including evenings and weekends
