Evening - 08 Hour (United States of America). This is a Stanford Health Care Tri-Valley job.

Job Summary

Coordinates and directs the daily functions of the Central Processing Department.

Essential Functions

The essential functions listed below are general examples and not a description of comprehensive duties. • Practices cost effective use of staff and supplies.
• Prepares justifications and pricing for the budgetary process and suggests alternate approaches for increasing cost effectiveness.
• Conducts monthly staff meetings, submits agendas to Manager of Central Processing prior to each staff meeting.
• Attends all Surgical Services Supervisory meetings, and serves on hospital task force meetings for Central Processing as assigned.
• Stays abreast of all joint commission and local regulations and updates department and staff as appropriate.
• Writes, updates and implements policy and procedures for department.
• Creates employee schedules and maintains written daily assignments for staff.
• Helps with the onboarding training of new employees and ongoing training of department staff.
• Works with manager to provide employees with coaching, goal setting and performance management feedback as appropriate.
• Always keeps accurate records regarding autoclave, sterility, dates, pressure, temperatures and time factors have been met.
• Consistently has all electrical rental equipment safety checked before issuing to patients.
• Ensures all required reports are accurate and re submitted to appropriate person in a timely basis.
• Records Changes in Tray Content or Inventory Supplies: Employee must perform all duties and responsibilities in accordance with the C-I-CARE Standards of the Hospital.
• C-I-CARE is the foundation of Stanford Healthcare - ValleyCare's patient-experience and represents a framework for patient-centered interactions.

Job Qualifications

Education

High school graduate or equivalent.

Experience

Minimum (3) three years of experience as Central Service Technician.

License/Certifications

• Certification as Central Processing Technician.
• BLS - Basic Life Support from the American Heart Association.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Working knowledge of computer systems. (CRT, Printer, associated equipment preferred).
• Strong command of the English Language - reading, writing and speaking.
• Strong knowledge of Quality Assurance, Safety and Infection Control guidelines.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Strong interpersonal skills.
• Proven leadership skills.

Base Pay Scale

Generally starting at $39.56 - $49.45 per hour. The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty and training. This pay scale is not a promise of a particular wage.
