Central Office Technician (Fiber Optic, Structured Cabling, Installation & Power)

Key Responsibilities:
1. Fiber Optic Systems:
  • Install, splice, terminate, and test fiber optic cables using OTDR (Optical Time-Domain Reflectometer) and power meters.
  • MM, SM
2. Structured Cabling & Installation:
  • Install and manage structured cabling systems , including Cat5e, Cat6, and fiber optics for network infrastructure.
  • Conduct cable terminations, patch panel setups, and equipment racking for data and telecom networks.
  • Ensure compliance with TIA/EIA, ANSI, and BICSI cabling standards.
3. Central Office Equipment & Network Maintenance:
  • Install, configure, and maintain telecommunications switches, routers, multiplexers, and transmission equipment .
  • Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance on network hardware and software .
  • Work with VoIP, Ethernet, and digital transmission systems for reliable connectivity.
4. Power Systems & Backup Solutions:
  • Install, maintain, and troubleshoot power distribution units (PDUs), rectifiers, inverters, and uninterruptible power supplies (UPS) .
  • Ensure proper grounding and power redundancy for continuous operations.
  • Monitor battery backup systems and perform preventive maintenance on DC and AC power systems .
