Position Summary
The Hybrid CDL Driver & Trailer Technician is responsible for the safe transportation of equipment, materials, and trailers while also performing inspections, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on company-owned trailers and customer equipment. This position combines over-the-road and local driving responsibilities with hands-on trailer maintenance, ensuring company owned vehicles remain safe, compliant, and operational as well as completing service orders for customers in a timely and accurate manner.

Physical Requirements
Ability to lift up to 75 pounds, work outdoors in varying weather conditions, stand, walk, bend, kneel, climb, and safely operate tools and equipment.
Work Environment
Combination of driving, shop, yard, and field environments. May require overtime, weekends, and occasional overnight travel.

This position combines over-the-road and local driving responsibilities with hands-on trailer maintenance, ensuring company owned vehicles remain safe, compliant, and operational as well as completing service orders for customers in a timely and accurate manner.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
CDL Driver Responsibilities
- Safely operate company vehicles and trailers in accordance with DOT regulations and company policies.
- Transport equipment, materials, and products to customer and company locations.
- Conduct pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip inspections.
- Maintain accurate driver logs, inspection reports, and shipping documentation.
- Ensure loads are properly secured and transported safely.
- Maintain compliance with all state and federal transportation regulations.
- Perform preventative maintenance on trailers and related equipment.
- Diagnose and repair brake systems, wheel seals, bearings, suspension systems, electrical systems, wiring, and lighting.
- Inspect trailers for DOT compliance and safety requirements.
- Perform structural repairs to trailers including floors, doors, sidewalls, and landing gear.
- Troubleshoot ABS systems and air brake components.
- Complete maintenance documentation accurately.
- Valid Class A CDL with acceptable driving record.
- Current DOT Medical Card.
- Minimum 2 years commercial driving experience.
- Minimum 2 years trailer maintenance or mechanical experience.
- Knowledge of DOT regulations and vehicle inspection requirements.
- Strong mechanical troubleshooting skills.
