CDL Driver, Class B with Hoisting License

Cape Cod Lumber is looking for an experienced CDL Driver, Class B with a Hoisting license.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Safe Operation of Commercial Motor Vehicle

    • Drive and operate a commercial motor vehicle in a safe and efficient manner. Adhere to all traffic laws and regulations. Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the truck and Moffett forklift to ensure they are in proper working condition.

  • Loading and Unloading

    • Operate Moffett forklift to load and unload materials at delivery and pickup locations. Secure cargo properly to prevent damage during transportation.

  • Delivery and Pickup

    • Deliver goods to designated locations in a timely manner. Pick up and document materials being returned by CCL customers.

  • Documentation

    • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of deliveries and pickups. Complete required paperwork, such as delivery receipts, logbooks, and inspection reports.

  • Customer Service

    • Provide excellent customer service when interacting with customers and co-workers. Communicate effectively with dispatch and customers regarding delivery schedules and any delays.

  • Equipment Maintenance

    • Perform basic maintenance on the truck and Moffett forklift. Report any mechanical issues or malfunctions promptly.

  • Compliance

    • Ensure compliance with all applicable regulations and standards, including DOT regulations.

Requirements

  • Valid CDL License - Possess a valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with the appropriate endorsements
  • Moffett Forklift Certification - Must possess a Massachusetts 1C license
  • Clean Driving Record - Maintain a clean driving record with no major violations
  • Physical Fitness - Ability to lift and move heavy objects up to 80lbs. Good physical condition to endure long hours on the road
  • Communication Skills - Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Safety Conscious - Commitment to safety protocols and regulations
  • *Must be able to work in all types of weather
  • **Familiar with the lumber industry is a plus but not required
