Supporting the Coding Supervisor in a fully remote capacity, the full-time Lead Coding Specialist will assist in supervising coding, abstracting, and reimbursement processes while ensuring compliance with ICD-10-CM/PCS guidelines and coding conventions from 8 AM to 4:30 PM. Key responsibilities Assist in supervising coding and reimbursement processes, ensuring compliance and operational efficiency across all facilities Monitor reports and workflows to identify opportunities for improvement and ensure accurate processing of coding activities Provide coding training within the department and perform research on coding issues as needed Required qualifications Associate's degree required AHIMA Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) certification is mandatory Preferred RHIA or RHIT certification or equivalent experience Minimum of five years of coding experience in Inpatient or Outpatient Surgery, Ancillary, and Emergency Room settings Proficiency in health information systems, database management, and MS Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook)
