Schedule:
- This is a flexible and per diem role which emphasizes work life balance.
- Minimum requirement of 2-3 shifts per month.
- Weekends and Weekday shifts available.
- Shifts typically run approximately 12 hours.
Requirements
- Active RN license in Illinois state.
- Sedation Experience required.
- Previous experience in a cath lab or ER/ICU setting required.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment while ensuring patient safety and comfort.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide procedural nursing care in a fast-paced outpatient Cath Lab and Interventional Radiology environment during vascular procedures.
- Prepare patients for procedures, including assessments, IV placement, and patient education.
- Administer and monitor conscious sedation during procedures while maintaining patient comfort and safety.
- Monitor patients throughout procedures and respond appropriately to changes in patient condition.
- Provide post-procedure Recovery/PACU care, including recovery monitoring, discharge education, and patient documentation.
- Collaborate closely with physicians, technologists, and other clinical team members to ensure seamless patient care.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of all patient care activities.
- Adhere to all infection control, safety, and procedural protocols within the outpatient procedure lab.
